On 17 September 2025, I had the honor of presenting my research at the 5th International Conference on Technology, Informatics, and Engineering (ICON-TINE 2025), held in Malang, Indonesia. This conference brought together researchers and practitioners from around the world to discuss innovations in technology, informatics, and engineering for a sustainable future.
Research Presented
Title: Development of a Real-Time Monitoring Biodiesel Reactor Using IoT Technology
This research focuses on integrating Internet of Things (IoT) systems into biodiesel reactors to improve efficiency, product quality, and operational safety.
Key aspects of the system include:
- NodeMCU ESP32 as the microcontroller
- S18B20 sensors for real-time temperature monitoring
- DC motor with L298N driver for stirring control
- Servo motor for heater adjustment
- Relay, buzzer, and LED indicators as safety mechanisms
- Blynk platform as the smartphone-based monitoring interface
Why This Matters
Conventional biodiesel reactors face several challenges such as limited monitoring, inconsistent process control, and lack of automated safety mechanisms. By leveraging IoT technology, biodiesel production can become:
- Smarter – real-time monitoring of key parameters
- Safer – automatic shutdown and alerts for overheating
- More efficient – improved product consistency and energy use
This innovation contributes to renewable energy adoption by making biodiesel production more reliable and scalable.
Conference Experience
Presenting at ICON-TINE was an invaluable experience. I had the chance to share my research findings, receive feedback from experts, and exchange ideas with international participants working in various fields of technology and sustainability.
I am deeply grateful to my mentors, collaborators, and Universitas Internasional Semen Indonesia for their support in making this research possible.
Conclusion
The integration of IoT technology into biodiesel reactors has significant potential for both laboratory and industrial applications. With further development, this approach can contribute to advancing sustainable energy solutions and accelerating the transition toward renewable energy.
