As the Event Director of EMWeek X 2024, I was entrusted with leading one of the biggest annual events organized by the Engineering Management Department at Universitas Internasional Semen Indonesia. With the theme “Agent of Change for Indonesia 2045,” the event featured four major competitions: Sustainability Essay, Esport Mobile Legends, Quiz Competition, and Short Movie Competition. In addition, EMWeek X also presented a series of educational programs, including a health webinar, an occupational safety (K3) webinar, and a sustainability awareness campaign in collaboration with the Environmental Agency of Gresik Regency.
I coordinated a team of over 60 committee members and managed more than 700 participants from across Indonesia, who were later shortlisted to the top 100 finalists. This role demanded strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to unify diverse perspectives while ensuring that every activity aligned with the grand vision of the event.
On the day of the event, witnessing the enthusiasm of the participants and the dedication of the committee was truly rewarding. I learned that leadership is not merely about assigning tasks, but about fostering collaboration and transforming differences into strengths. EMWeek X became a powerful reminder that great visions can be achieved through teamwork, shared commitment, and meaningful collaboration with external stakeholders.
